The chemagic™ Prepito®-D instrument is based on chemagen’s proven technology for nucleic acid isolation and represents the top quality sample preparation system currently available as a small size instrumentation. The instrument is built on PerkinElmer's experience in automated nucleic acid isolation with high throughput instruments.

This innovative instrument realizes cost effectiveness through automated dispensing of buffers into standard plastic devices instead of using expensive pre-filled cartridges. It includes barcode reading to provide comfort and to support highest quality assurance demands. Hands-on time is minimized. Processing time is as short as 30 minutes for up to 12 samples per batch.

Performance

The chemagic™ Prepito®-D instrument achieves magnetic separation by rods that are transiently magnetized are immersed into the process solutions. To enable the often complicated resuspension step of the magnetic particle pellets e.g., in wash or elution buffers, the magnet can be switched off, while the rods are rotated to ensure thorough mixing of the solution. This normally cumbersome step becomes, therefore, quick and efficient, resulting in isolation products with both high yields and purities.
